MANELS… 9 YEARS WITH JIMAC

To share the same commitment to product quality premier customer service and employee development these are the business philosophy that Manels Leathergoods Corporation is committed to. Owned by Mr. Many & Nelia Siggaoat, these couple started their grocery/pharmacy operation in 1964. Empowered by their willingness to succeed dedication on their work and the courage to face all the challenges that lies ahead, Manels has grown to be one of the Philippine’s premier name in leather goods, footwear, complete line of affordable casual wear, ladies and men’s accessories and a lot more.

In 1993, Manels Leathergoods Corporation signed up with JIMAC Inc. for the full automation of all its stores nationwide, which incorporates Manels’s Boutiques, Maphisto, Modanella, Everything 100 and Manel’s Total Department Store. To date there are more or less 40 Manel’s terminal powered by Jimac’s Retail Data Management System (RDMS) software that monitors all their daily cashiering operations, furnish them with needed reports and facilitates proper stock transfer and withdrawal through the inventory module.

JIMAC’s RDMS emulates the cash register’s functions with special features like it is configurable and easy to use, it can be in a stand alone or network mode and it can also be connected to a Head office like in the case of Manels. All reports such as terminal and cashier accountability, item sales, group sales, hourly sales, end of day sales report from its branches are generated to the head office on a range of date basis through modem,

Ms. Loisa Marasigan, POS in charge of Manels signified that there is 98% accuracy with regards to the sales database they are obtaining from us. She is acquiring reports from the POS, which she presents to the management for analysis and figuring out the relational aspect for each transaction like sales vs inventory, deliveries vs sales and the like.

Before POS they are using cash registers, according to Ms. Marasigan cash register data are more on the sales category only, tracking is per department and not itemized. That is why they cannot get the information like gross profit, sales per item etc., the inventory procedure is done manually which take them us such a long time in getting the report they need unlike in POS wherein data are grouped accordingly.

“For eight (8) years of working with JIMAC, we’ve considered them not as one of our suppliers but as a business partner. They’ve introduced to us the Point of Sale system, which helped us to be more effective in serving our customers and has provided us the information we need in management decisions. As of today we’re still working with JIMAC and we’ve trusted them enough because we know they have the POS we need that fits our business.
